As there will no Summer Tuesdays at Pont Street in August (except 2nd August), Marshall Christie has volunteered to run dances on the missing Tuesdays in Richmond. The hall is much smaller than Pont Street has a decent floor but can only accommodate 6 sets. Dancing would be to recorded music, although Marshall is hoping that he may have a band for one of the Tuesdays. Dancing will be in the Oddfellows Hall in Parkshot and is only 5 minutes walk from Richmond Station; there is ample free parking (after 6.30pm) in the Deer Park car park with access from the A316. Refreshments would be provided but not on the same scale as Pont Street: Marshall has “volunteered” a few locals who will provide a limited buffet – tea and cold drinks will also be available. Places are limited and can only be offered on a first come basis. If anyone is interested, they should contact either Marshall or Frances on 19th July or 2nd August at Pont Street (they will not be there on 26th July) or by email to marshall.christie@btopenworld.com or francc@btinternet.com – in any event they must know numbers by 3rd August. It would also be helpful to let Marshall Christie ( marshall.christie@btopenworld.com ) know on which dates you would be able to go to Richmond. Depending on numbers, the cost would only be £3 or £4 for each Tuesday; this would be sufficient to cover the cost of the hall and refreshments.
